Personal Support Worker Staffing for Open Shifts
Personal support worker staffing starts with a clear description of the support your setting needs. Staffy lets your organization post PSW shifts, set the offered rate and review independent professionals who choose to apply.

Describe the support your setting needs
A PSW posting should tell professionals what the shift involves, where they will work and what preparation is required. Explain the care setting, the expected duties and any relevant experience your organization requires.
Include orientation, access instructions and any equipment or documentation requirements. Avoid including patient or resident information in a public posting.
Review fit before confirming the booking
If either a PSW or a PCA meets the requirements of the work, you can accept both through one posting. Set minimum experience and review applicants against your care setting before deciding whom to book.
Staffy supports the posting, booking and payment process. Your organization sets the requirements for its setting and reviews the applicable account terms, including fees and cancellation rules. Availability varies by location, shift and requirements.
Frequently asked questions
Can one posting accept both PSWs and PCAs?
Yes. If either role meets the requirements of the work, select the option to accept both when posting. Your organization still defines the duties, training and site requirements; the option does not make the two roles interchangeable for every shift.
Can homecare teams reuse a care plan for later shifts?
Yes. Homecare clients can save a care plan and assign it to a patient. New shifts can then fill in tasks from that patient's previous shift, reducing repeated entry. Keep patient-specific details within the care workflow.
Why might an onboarded PSW still need steps before working at our site?
Your facility may require its own orientation, training or system access. Those steps are separate from Staffy onboarding. Share the requirements and access contact early, and confirm the professional can complete them before the first shift.
Who decides which qualifications a PSW needs?
Your organization sets the requirements for the shift and care setting. These can include PSW certification or equivalent training, relevant experience and client-required checks. Staffy supports onboarding and vetting on the client's behalf; facility-specific eligibility still needs to be confirmed.
What if we want to hire a professional directly?
Contact the Staffy team before arranging a move from marketplace shifts to direct employment. The process, any conversion terms and required sign-off depend on your organization's agreement. Completing a particular number of hours does not, by itself, establish the terms for every client.
