We envision a world that unlocks the full potential of our health workforce to ensure patients always receive the care they need.
The era of the conventional staffing agency is over. Avoid being overcharged as an organization, or being underpaid as talent. We are here to help you serve.
What We Stand For
At Staffy we believe in empowering what matters. We took a look at the current staffing agency model and knew there was a better way. Our approach improves the way companies scale their workforce and simplifies how talent is able to find work.
Companies receive access to fully-vetted talent at fair prices while talent can set their own rates reflecting their skills and experience. With our on-demand marketplace, companies and talent alike can expect excellence, credibility and reliability. Staffy simply earns a small transaction fee for creating these connections.
Founder and CEO
As the Founder and CEO of Staffy, Peter Faist manages the fastest growing digital staffing marketplace for healthcare in North America. His mission is to leverage technology so that no open shift goes unfilled, ensuring patients get the quality care they deserve. A highly regarded security architect, Peter ran his own consulting firm for several years. He partnered with private and public sector clients to build networks that, amongst other things, powered the 2010 Olympics and built the first digital hospital in Ontario. In 2015, Peter created Staffy when he noticed that high absenteeism was a challenge for top restaurants in Toronto. This lightbulb moment led to the first iteration of Staffy, which helped restaurants and bars fill open shifts with skilled hospitality workers. Staffy quickly expanded into New York, Houston and across Canada – until COVID hit in 2020. Like much of the hospitality industry, Staffy was hit hard by the pandemic. With many hospitality workers now looking for full-time work, Peter quickly reached out to hospitals and long-term care homes to see if he could help them fill open shifts in their kitchens and other non-health care roles. Very quickly, Peter was asked if his platform could be used to help fill open health care shifts so he made it his mission to do so. With his team, he spent several months re-tooling Staffy’s hospitality-based platform to accommodate health care workers, including introducing an extensive vetting process to review health care credentials. The pivot to health care provided hospitals, long-term care and retirement homes relief for their current staff and filled gaps in their workforces. Staffy is also proud to have helped fill all the shifts at the first COVID vaccine clinics in Toronto. Peter grew up in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and went to George Brown College and Ryerson University.

1. Push or SMS notifications (can be customized under “Setting -> Notifications”);
2. “Available Jobs” in the app; or
3. Click the bell on the Home Page.
After completing your shift, Staffy issues payments after 5 calendar days of the shift’s start date. Payments are deposited to your VISA Debit card through VISA Direct.
Be sure to keep track of your invoices for tax purposes, as we do not provide T4s or T4As to our contractors.
Your rating is the average of your client reviews. We only post your rating after your first three clients have completed the review. As clients are not obligated to rate you, feel free to ask your clients to rate you at the end of the shift.
There is no commitment or fees to register for the Staffy platform. It's pay as you go. Simply use the platform as needed and we'll charge you for the hours worked and logged.
Our hourly rate is the contractors chosen rate + Staffy's service fee. Contractors choose their rate based on labour market trends and demands. Staffy's service fees vary according to method of payment: Pre-purchase is 20%; Credit card is 25%; and Cheque is 40%.
Provided you've cancelled the shift more than 48 hours in advance, you will not incur a fee. Otherwise, we do charge a three-hour cancellation fee, which is provided directly to the contractor as compensation for clearing their schedule.
Staffy has a rigorous recruitment process. We source our talent from recognized, established job boards. We review resumes to ensure the commensurate experience exists for the role(s) they wish to fill. We also complete reference and background checks.
Once onboarded, our real time reviews ensure that our talent are meeting and exceeding expectations. If someone isn't making the grade, we remove them from our system.
