Friends, with all of the closures in the hospitality industry, COVID-19 is especially tough on all of the people we serve. And I want you to also know that here at Staffy we have been thinking about our workforce since this crisis began, to try and help.
So I’m writing to let you know that our company has shifted our focus during this COVID-19 crisis from hospitality only, to a range of other industries.
We have been working on these plans for more than a week now, and I have been reaching out to leaders in other industries such as grocers, health care and procurement. We know that line cooks, servers, and dishwashers are some of the hardest working and most flexible workers out there. We also know that these same workers are the hardest hit by the economic downturn caused by the pandemic. That’s why we are gearing up our platform to help them find alternative work during these challenging times.
As we know, many companies are facing new challenges in the face of COVID-19. Some, of course, are being forced to reduce their workforce as people self-quarantine. Others, however, have seen incredible growth in demand for their services, and we know Staffy can provide them access to the scalable workforce that they need.
Staffy is now offering its platform to seniors living centres, healthcare organizations, grocery and food distributors, as well as manufacturing, general labour, and delivery organizations.
By working with other industries, our hope is that Staffy can continue to support hospitality workers. We know that some 96% of Staffy workers typically work full-time and simply use the platform to supplement their income. Now for many, with their regular and flexible shifts drying up, they are looking to find ways to make themselves whole. We are committed to being a part of the solution.
We have a strong database of more than 30,000 workers from cities across North America whom we have pre-screened and verified to work on our platform. We are committed to them and their families during this time and are happy to assist any company or organization that needs their help.
